iPhone Arrives, No One Notices
Apple will release the iPhone tonight, but consumers and the media are unanimously apathetic. We just googled “iphone” and received five results, four of which referred to the International Paper Historians eg. “IPH, one group of paper historians…”
What little buzz there is for the phone seems confined to NYC, maybe just downtown. This picture of the Apple Store in Soho was taken by Scott Bressler.

-just saw a line around snaked around a corner outside a cellphone store in a seedy looking strip mall here on the west coast

I haven't found these paper historians yet. What a fascinating field of study! The story of the supplanting of pulp by the glossy stuff for magazines must, by itself, be worth colloquia galore.
