so, over/under on further frantic action from Leh, next Monday, any takers?

So despite my suggestion DB missed coverage of the neat little debacle going on re: Tax Evasion/Lichtenstein. Saw something interesting about it http://businesstechnologyinnovation.blogspot.com and the WSJ covers it here http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120492811502520489.html?mod=hps_us_inside_today
FBI is investigating Countrywide, because, frankly, they really need more shit on their plate right now, http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN0838569920080309
Weekends are set to get slightly more expensive, as a friendly neighborhood importer of late-nights has rudely been detained, http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN0939868020080309

Boeing has “serious concerns” about the awarding of the Air Force’s new refueling rig to Airbus/Northrop, here we go Brady version 2.0 http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aMf.__hvnNRQ&refer=home
Some other stuff happened, nothing new, i.e. GM sucks (more), Pauson “Housing issues will take time to work out…” (ed: no shit), Apple releases new iphone software @ SDK conference (engadget live-blogged it, check it) - looks to take share from RIMM, blah blah etc etc…
Who What Where When How Much ???
Seems like alot of people check DB over the weekend, maybe enough to rationalize at least one or two posts over the weekend. Figure it can’t take more than 20-30 minutes of combined effort of scanning the wsj/etc…
Thoughts?
They’re “working on it”, is the party line. Meanwhile since DB can’t post anything, and apparently we can still post here, wtf is everyone doing with their afternoon…besides hittin the reload button every half hour?

I see taleb's toned down the ego, eh? Not nearly enough syllables there for the taleb of a few years ago.

Do you ever do anything that involves using your brain?
Using the mean (total comp divided by # of employees) gives a completely incorrect picture of Goldman (or any firm's) compensation structure.
If I have to explain why I'm going to crawl through teh intertubes and send you back to yahoo finance/denninger/wherever you came from.

Last weekend I was at a bar watching football, and during commercials the "dj" was playing songs. During a timeout he threw on "Party in the U.S.A" and an entire of mid 20-early 30-ish yuppies went wild. It was ridiculous(ly awesome).
First of all, if Hansen is reading this board, Naked Short is absolutely into Miley, in every sense of the word.

Naked, you sir either have a fantastic photographic memory and a book shelve piled high with movie scripts, or way, way too much time on your hands (not that I can criticize these days)

The big problem pfluger, is the government-mandate for the NRSRO's, and that almost every institutional pool charter (etc) relies on their ratings.
I have less of an issue with the conflict of interest than that so many people rely on the ratings instead of doing their own diligence, and then cry "foul!" when their lethargy comes back to bite them in the ass

TC beat me to it. Why wait 2.5 minutes, nay, 2.5 seconds? Whip out the Boone's (or whatever) and repent for your stray motives this week. I want examination, and then, after that, I want even more. Damnit boy, by the time you're 2 bottles deep, I want you to have examined those god damn motives so badly that we'll never, and I mean EVER have to reprimand you like this again. Do ya hear me son?

Thanks. I think I made it sufficiently long that most of that crowd will probably lose focus and go back to ZH or denninger before they get to the comments section.
