DB needs a new IT guy/intern/slave

Ok while we wait for DB’s (pretend) IT guy to get his sh!t together, might as well bring the convo over here…

so, over/under on further frantic action from Leh, next Monday, any takers?

Hangover relief (not really), Weekend edition

So despite my suggestion DB missed coverage of the neat little debacle going on re: Tax Evasion/Lichtenstein. Saw something interesting about it http://businesstechnologyinnovation.blogspot.com and the WSJ covers it here http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120492811502520489.html?mod=hps_us_inside_today

FBI is investigating Countrywide, because, frankly, they really need more shit on their plate right now, http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN0838569920080309

Weekends are set to get slightly more expensive, as a friendly neighborhood importer of late-nights has rudely been detained, http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN0939868020080309

For Girl, and all of our friendly aspiring politicos, or President in Cheif has, in his infinite wisdom, decided to use his veto power to shutdown a bill limiting the use of waterboarding, etc, enjoy http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/09/washington/09policy.html?em&ex=1205211600&en=8066619a29153d41&ei=5087%0A

Boeing has “serious concerns” about the awarding of the Air Force’s new refueling rig to Airbus/Northrop, here we go Brady version 2.0 http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aMf.__hvnNRQ&refer=home

Some other stuff happened, nothing new, i.e. GM sucks (more), Pauson “Housing issues will take time to work out…” (ed: no shit), Apple releases new iphone software @ SDK conference (engadget live-blogged it, check it) - looks to take share from RIMM, blah blah etc etc…

DealBreaker Weekend Edition

Seems like alot of people check DB over the weekend, maybe enough to rationalize at least one or two posts over the weekend. Figure it can’t take more than 20-30 minutes of combined effort of scanning the wsj/etc…

Thoughts?

Dealbreaker no worky

They’re “working on it”, is the party line. Meanwhile since DB can’t post anything, and apparently we can still post here, wtf is everyone doing with their afternoon…besides hittin the reload button every half hour?

1. Greg never learned how to use tags (despite everyone telling him to).

2. EP's writing style is not only verbose, but riddled with delicious allusion and crafty structure. Jon, nor Greg (haha) could come anywhere close.

3. F/m/k...EP/Jon (regrettably)/Greg (over and over again)

ditto @12

also, I'm guessing UES, north of 86th, east of 2nd, although I can't tell if those are weird "parquet" floors or linoleum (although there isn't really much difference, is there?)

@27

Looks like my grandparents/aunts place in Queens, so I guess that makes sense. Also, roll-up garage doors covered with off the rack blinds are the new killing it.

@ Tax Chick

That's definitely a Bob's Discount Furniture/Raymour & Flanigan/Huffman Koo's pull-out sofa, no way Jennifer Convertibles.

@tax chick

A brief check of r&f and bob's websites yielded a few ~70% probabilities, but no perfect matches. Clearly their gaudy couch-buying prowess is far beyond anything we could hope to achieve in our lifetimes.

@Headless

Had you simply pointed out that the mom is probably under alot of stress now and likely doesn't need any more, that'd have been one thing, but you went too far.

When both of your sons get arrested, are dumb enough to have their facebook profiles public, etc, etc, there's some inevitable parental responsibility. Sure, each of us is our own person, and have no doubt made our fair share of mistakes - egregious or not - but don't jump on Bess because Buhl sent what appears to be an simple, inquisitive email to the mother.

Its not like the network news crews tresspassing on peoples' property and incessantly shoving microphones in the greivings' face, not hardly, so stfu, quit your b*tching, and if you don't like it, gtfo.

HH, with this whiney nonsense, you've helped me pass the past 30 minutes of my otherwise boring evening stuck at work till god knows when, so for that, I suppose some thanks is in order.

Otherwise mammas boy, you're delusional to take offense to Buhl's email/this post, if that wasn't profoundly clear yet. @Tax Chick said it best, if she didn't want to deal with it, she could have...wait for it...not dealt with it.

Seriously nancy, hike up that skirt and man the f' up already, its NBD, and your crying is starting to get old.

wsj piece is garbage; how many times do we need to be reminded that "sources familiar with the matter confirmed" or some variation?
